As of October 13th, 2022, Aikido Finance released a new IBKR integration. This guide is now outdated, you do not need to turn off 2FA in order to use Aikido Finance. Please visit Aikido Finance to connect your IBKR brokerage account.
Let’s look at how to configure two-factor authentication by mobile app (and stop auth by text) in Interactive Brokers.
In order to automate your trades with Aikido, you will need to disable Interactive Brokers two-factor authentication (by text) – ie. you must opt-out of IBKR’s Secure Login System. The following is a guide on how to do exactly this.
Step 1. Download the IBKR Mobile Application
This app is available on iOS and Android.
Click ‘Register Two-Factor’ from within the app.
Click Continue and Enter the SMS Code which was sent to you, then Click Activate.
Navigate to User Settings as shown in the image below.
You will be brought to the user settings page. This page can be a little overwhelming…
You want to click Secure Login System under the Security heading as shown below.
Then click Secure Login required for trading as shown below.
NOTE: some users may not see Secure Login Settings on the right side of the screen, but instead see a button with Enable Smartphone Configuration. Click that button if you see it.
Click I only want to use my Secure Login Device when logging into Account Management.
Type your name in the ‘Sign Here’ box.
Now you can trade with Aikido without having to complete Two-Factor Authentication by text each time.
